Serpent Skies
Serpent Skies
16 x 20 x 1.5 original acrylic painting on a wooden panel. 2023
“Serpent Skies” The snake originally came through as a reminder of the playful innocence I had with them as a child, and I've watched over time how that connection slowly morphed from fearlessness into startle and uncertainty.
Over the last handful of years, my relationship with the snake has shifted to one of respect and honoring its symbology. I've reflected on the metaphor and universal message of its medicine many times over.
The feathered snake, recognized in many cultures, captivates my curiosity, and I continue pondering why it came through so strongly in this piece.
With the choosing of favorite flowers of my family members, both those living and those who have traveled on, I've come to realize what a profound impact our taste and aesthetics have on those around us. I know most of these flowers well and realize that I adopted the majority of them as personal favorites because of who they remind me of.
The story of Serpent Skies continues to evolve as it's shared, and I look forward to other eyes and hearts adding to its many layers.
